Booking family travel on Singapore airlines using miles and cash

I'm looking to book a flight for the Singapore airlines first class suites using miles for myself and my husband. I also wanted to book two tickets for my older children and pay with cash or points. I would likely put them in premium economy. How do I go about doing this? Is this something that requires calling the airline to do so. I'm assuming if I just use my points to book the two adult tickets first it might be difficult to then book the children's tickets. Do they need to be booked all together? Does Singapore allow you to hold flights?
