[QUOTE=demue;35213315]If OP is booked JFK-SIN on SQ 25, this is considered a flight with 1 segment, but two sectors due to the "technical" stop in FRA.
In theory, if one wanted to upgrade FRA-SIN only, this may fail in this specific case as the booking is JFK-SIN and FRA-SIN segment (not sector) does not exist in the OPs itinerary.
This may all sound a bit odd and technical, but I could imagine this to case a problem as normally through pax to SIN from JFK need to upgrade the whole segment (meaning both sectors need to have availability) and the price is JFK-SIN upgrade price and not FRA-SIN as OP is not booked FRA-SIN - still with me

.
Anyways, worth a shot to call though and also look out for the SQupgrade bids (cash).[/QUOTE
Thanks for this. I decided not to try. I've had nothing but bad luck with SQ when it comes to ticketing, and I've just grown accustomed to overpaying for their awards. For example, paying for Saver Suites to SIN PLUS Saver Business to Bali because the phone agent couldn't combine into a single award despite their award chart. Purchasing BWNSIN awards because the agent couldn't add it to my existing SINJFK award without jettisoning SINJFK and "hopefully we can get it back in a few days". As if.
But I knew this was a long shot. Even US airlines - where re-pricing individual legs nested in an existing itinerary is relatively simple - this would have been complex. In a perfect world, we'd have broken JFKFRASIN into two legs, reprice JFKFRA as Saver Business (what I paid) and then purchase FRASIN as Saver First, and add SINDPS Saver Business (existing reservation) to that award. Simple on paper.
It's going to be frustrating to see those F seats go empty (if that happens). Hopefully we will board through door 2 so I don't have to do the Walk of Shame.
Thanks to those that replied, safe travels - Jamie
