The exact config of the various desks does seem to vary slightly each time I go. However I am pretty sure the last time I was there a month or so ago there was a one queue for First/Gold and one for Business/Silver/Bronze.
Then there is the self drop and regular staffed check in.
To be honest all the queues were flowing well and self drop had next to no queue.
In terms of boarding you will have a boarding group printed on your boarding class, which reflects your bronze status, as will anyone on the same reservation. I think it will be group 3. Groups boarding at Gatwick works better at some gates than others.
Don’t forget you select seats for free 7 days before and to recheck 3 days before as some blocked seats may then be available.
Yes, the flight we have is out of Gatwick, when we flew earlier this year from Gatwick it was easy to use the bronze check in and earlier boarding group (especially when in world traveller and overhead bins filled up quickly)
but didn’t want our friends to queue with us and then be told they had to go to a different check in.
