NEV4 is definitely not what you can expect nowadays from a business class seat, however, it is not THAT bad.

What is very bad is if you end up in the middle seat (row of three seats), and quite bad if you have a window seat when flying solo.

For sleeping it is not awful. Once you get accustomed to the seat, you can find a comfortable position and sleep quite well. I am quite fussy about seat comfort, still slept many many hours in a NEV4 and landed quite fresh.

So you can relax!
