Thanks for the reminder DELee. I had a lovely stay at the Seattle Marriott Waterfront hotel! The staff is friendly and the rooms are all newly renovated, nice, and clean. As Bonvoy Gold, we were given an upgrade from their standard guestroom to a partial waterview room. I believe some of these rooms have just a large window and some had have a small balcony (not big enough for chairs or anything - just a couple people standing). Ours was the latter and it was quite nice. One annoying quirk was the AC would reset anytime the balcony door was opened, and anytime the AC started, it sounded like a jet engine due to the older systems that weren't upgraded during the renovation. Bring ear plugs if stuff like that bothers you. We got used it after a day, but the first night was an adjustment. We did not use the lounge as we didn't have access, but the hotel allows food delivery services to bring food to your door! That was quite handy when we wanted a quick breakfast or lunch before heading out. We also had room service a couple times, which was essentially carryout from their hotel restaurant (they come in takeout containers), but they also give you plates and utensils to use. We valeted a vehicle (a bit expensive, but expected for the area) and you can text them when you need it so it's ready when you get downstairs. They did forget my kiddo's birthday (the entire reason we went to Seattle in the first place), but after I reminded them, they got us a little individual sized cheesecake and some local chocolate with a card signed by the staff. It was very cute and sweet. My kiddo approved!! (Did not get to use the pool because it was closed for part of the time for maintenance, but when it reopened it was always PACKED.)
Unfortunately most of the other areas in Seattle (like the restaurants/shopping/Target and Pike Place Market area) was not as walkable due to the extensive construction around Seattle, which obviously was not the hotel's fault. The Lenora Street Pedestrian Bridge that connects the hotel area to the downtown area was closed due to neighboring construction, but we didn't know that ahead of time, so we had to turn back around, find a crosswalk to walk across the street to the other side of Alaskan Way, overshoot the downtown area, then walk back across Alaskan Way and up the Union Street Pedestrian Bridge. That detour doubled the walking distance for us. Hopefully Lenora reopens back up soon.
