SpaceX launched the Viasat-3 satellite yesterday (April 30). Once in service, this satellite will expand the Viasat coverage to include the Hawaii <-> CONUS routes.

It will take a few months for the satellite to reach its final orbit and to complete the commissioning process. I don't know if the expanded coverage will show up immediately or if the aircraft systems will need an update to use the new satellite. I would guess that it would just be a software update, if that.

The Viasat satellite expanded Europe and Africa is due to launch later this year and the one for Asia, next year.
