If Accor let’s them get away with it, I guess more hotels will catch up on this and make SNUs permanently unavailable or just on dates where business is super-slow.
95% of my Accor stays are with Raffles, Fairmont and Banyan Tree - I wish they would have their own loyalty program instead of belonging to Accor

if i understand well you want to use SNU for 1 night during weekends?
it is normal that it’s not working. It’s not convenient and profitable for hotels to offer it just for one night during weekends and in general during periods when demand is high.
it decreases the average room rate and would have many impacts for the property.
you have better chances to use SNU during low season.
of course you should be able to use whenever you like but in reality it is not that easy.
