With only 1J being released, question on close-in availability.

I have itineraries booked for next year for me and my wife on two separate days going and coming from IAH.

I'll be looking to merge us onto the same flight (either/or direction) if availability permits in the close-in window.

Do we have a sense of what that window is? I've heard 21 days before departure and 28 days.
