Hello,
We are US citizens, each traveling in Business (Pd Z) on a single United ticket between EWR and TFS.
The outbound EWR - TFS leg is direct/nonstop, so I have no questions about that.
Our Return flights:
LX 8215 (TFS - ZRH) operated by Edelweiss
90 min Layover Zurich
UA 9748 (ZRH - EWR) operated by Swiss Air
1) Is layover sufficient? United.com presented it as an option. The other connections involve an extra day of travel time.
2) Will we need to go through some combination of security/immigration/passport control in ZRH? How will we know where to go?
3) Is it correct to assume bags can be checked through to EWR and that we will go through Customs there?
4) Do we just go through security at TFS and then passport control/immigration at ZRH?
Thanks in advance for any advice. I’m not a frequent international flyer. I tried to search for this info. I know TFS to ZRH is Schengen to Schengen, but I don’t really understand the implications since the US is Non-Schengen.
