AA might very well just send him $35 to settle, but the OP would still have lost as, unless there’s a contract or law that says otherwise, his court costs aren’t recoverable. I don’t see how spending more than $35 plus more personal time to get $35 makes any sense, unless I just wanted to fight this in principle to get AA.
Perhaps AA will learn from this that when its agents promise things to customers, it has to follow those promises. That would benefit all of us.
