Like others have said, you have to look at the room description. Some brands are much more likely to have them than others. I've never seen a microwave in one of the higher tier brands. I've seen them in most of the Hampton inns I've been in but there are always exceptions, especially with center city locations. The Hampton Inn in the Pearl in Portland doesn't have microwaves. That's one I can think of right off top of my head.
