It may be an unfair comparision. Our taste buds behave differently at 30000 feet. The same dish may taste very good on the ground and may be tasteless at 30000 feet. Airline food do try to compensate for this change, but it is still at a disadvantage. After said that, I must admit that I have had more enjoyable business class meals on VIA rail than on airlines.
