Pool isn't important to everyone. If rooms get a renovation at Baur, it could be quite different. Personally I wouldn't call the actual design ugly. What's the most important factor to stay at Baur instead of Dolder is location. If you are fine with staying at a hotel quite far away from the center Dolder may be the choice. Otherwise the location is not great for sightseeing etc.
