Maybe or maybe not. Not sure. It was from my own experience. It happened end of last year for BOS-SEA, which obviously got me an enormous bang for otherwise useless Avios.

I called and Huca'ed within the SDC window and talked to the agent pre-security. They all tried and encountered the same error.
They all said if they altered it, Alaska doesn't get paid by British - Not sure if this is true, though.
Gate agent was able to clear the standby and put me in the PC.

It was super weird and nothing made sense but it happened to me.
