Got a question about short checking bags.
Considering flying NRT-HKG-MNL with an 8+ hour layover until late evening. Wondering if it's still possible to short check bags to HKG over long layover these days.
An update about my experience last week.
Flown HND-HKG-MNL on CX543 and CX939 with an 8h 5min connection in the day. Economy Light fare with class Q.
Requested at Business counter to have my bag short checked to HKG. Agent was willing to do it initially but then told me the system doesn't allow it guessing it could be my fare type.
Too tired to persist being sleep deprived and picked up my bag 17 hours later in the Philippines.
Guess it might make a difference with an overnight layover at HKG?
