Cip“s by Cipriani

The third restaurant in the Belmond is Cip's by Cipriani, here they try to make the connection with the famous Venetian hotel fruitful. An Italian restaurant is not necessarily what I prefer on Anguilla, but we try everything.
Good olives and quite greasy focaccia along with other mediocre bread.

The view from the terrace was of course brilliant.

RAVIOLI DI STRACCIATELLA SU TARTARE DI DENTICE Home-made stracciatella cheese ravioli, red snapper tartare, asparagus (45 $)

Good taste, but priced too high at $45. It was not star quality now.
GUACAMOLE ITALIANO Italian guacamole (16 $)

At breakfast they had them for free, but what the heck.
After a plentiful break came the main courses.
GNOCCHI CON PESTO DI PISTACCHIO AL LIMONE Home-made Gnocchi, pistachio pesto, lemon (35 $)

The gnocchi were quite good, but also nothing special
GRIGLIATA MISTA Chargrilled catch of the day, crayfish, prawns, scallop, squid, and mixed vegetables (60 $)


OK, you can't be too demanding. But for $60 I actually expect something else. Now this was not bad, but also not particularly well fried or otherwise outstanding.
This time we took dessert.
TIRAMISŁ Traditional Tiramisu (19 $)

Again, not bad, but you get better tiramisu at some delivery service in Germany. Far from Cipriani. (p.s. plate wasn“t included to take home).
Now came the highlight of the evening.
GELATI, SORBETTI E FRUTTA ESOTICA Ice Cream, Sorbet and Exotic Fruits (15 $)

Actually, you can already see it, that was nothing. Especially the pistachio ice cream tasted unnatural and basically inedible. Unworthy of a restaurant. Also the fruits were very exotic. I hope if someone delivers something like this in a gelato academy in Italy, the cane comes into play. Very bad!
Not an outstanding meal, but nicely expensive. The dessert makes it clear once again that the cooking skills are not very good. It doesn't help to use a big name, you also have to orientate yourself on it.
