What is your Priority Club status?
Diamond Ambassador
Were you (or for multi-stayers are you generally) happy with the hotel/stay?
The hotel is located close to the airport and next to the I94. The area around the hotel is not really nice. There are a couple of hotels (i.a. Holiday Inn Express & Suites, Candlewood & Suites, Fairfield Inn & Suites, Red Roof In) and business next to the hotel. But nothing really in walkable distance.
Reason for me, that I wanted to have a centrally located hotel for days trips to Racine, Milwaukee and Madison without need to change hotels every night. So the CP fitted the bill and was also the least expensive option. Another reason, the hotel provided free parking.
I arrived at the hotel at 16:00. There is more than enough parking space around the hotel.
A hallway leads to the check in area. To the right is a Starbucks (open from 05:00 till 11:00 on weekday and till 13:00 on weekends and holidays). To the left are a couple of chairs and there is also a small guest pantry where you buy drinks, snacks and travel utensils.
Meeting and conference rooms are located on the ground floor on the right side. There is also the gym, the Altitude restaurant. Behind the lobby is a small business center and on the left next to the elevators
I was the only guest checking in. The agent retrieved the reservation from the system. He thanked me for being a Diamond member. I was told that I received an upgrade to a Suite on the top floor far away from the elevators.
He also asked if I like the points, the welcome drinks or the breakfast as Diamond Amenity. I went with the breakfast but did not receive a voucher. This was solved later, as I inquired how the breakfast worked. He then wrote 2 x 3 voucher coupons each valid 15 USD to apply for breakfast. He mentioned that breakfast is up for two persons (I had only booked for one person).
Breakfast is served in the restaurant “Altitude” from 06:30 to 10:30). He was also mentioned that I received an upgrade to an Executive Suite which was also shown in the app a couple of hours earlier.
After asking, I was told that gym ist 24/7 and the pool and jaccuzzi is open from 06:00 to 22:00.
The fitness center is small with a number of treadmills and weights. Machines were okay, but they did not check on towels, water and cleaning utensils. The empty water bottle as well as the empty cleaning materials were not restocked during my three days.
The pool area is large. Towels were provided and in general cleanliness was okay.
Breakfast is served à la carte. The 15 USD get you a coffee and a breakfast dish (

).
I had dinner at the restaurant / bar, simply for the convenience not needing to leave the hotel again. Food was okay, nothing outstanding. Prices were reasonable (Burger 15 USD; Chicken Caprese with Pasta 18 USD, Ceasar Salad 12 USD or with chicken 17 USD). Drinks were also okay, local beer on tap for 6 USD. Could be charged to the room and thus earned points, but f&b amenity could not yet be applied.
Restaurant is windowless and thus a bit dark.
Internet was fast
Check out was quick and fast. Late check out till 14:00 was granted by the supervisor, the agent at the day of check-out would only give me 11:30. But it seem, she was on training, as he pointed on the screen and mentioned my status.
Which room did you book, and which upgrade did you receive?
Booked Standard and received One Bedroom Suite with Sofa Bed with balcony (234 sq ft)
How are the rooms?
My room was located on the 5th floor.
I was upgraded to a One Bedroom Suite with Sofa Bed with balcony (234 sq ft). Not very large. Divided into two parts.
After opening the door one is right in the living room with sofa, armchair, table, desk. There is also the coffee machine with six capsules. The desk has a lamp and also two USB outlets.
A mini frigde is placed on the floor.
The TV was mounted above the desk, which I dislike. Three lamps, one on the desk, one next to the coffee machine and one standing lamp connect to the light switch. All three not very bright and without light the room was rather dark. Sofa was okay, but in general I found it a bit old fashioned, out of style.
A short hallways connects the living area with the bedroom. In this part is the closet. The sink is in the hallway, while toilet and bath are in a separate room.
Only Shampoo and soap were provided. Towels (two large and two medium sized ones were available). No slippers and bathrobes were provided. Water pressure was okay. The bathroom was quite dark.
The bedroom had a large king size bed with two bedside table with lamps. A second tv was wall mounted opposite the bed above a desk. Quite narrow. Nice to have was the small balcony.
Sockets were placed at the desk on the alarm clock.
The room was brighter. Curtain blacked out the light, which was nice. Air Condition was next to the desk. The wall mounted operator does not work, but one could adjust the setting on the unit. I turned it off during the night, as is was noisy.
No pen / biro and writing pad were available in the room. I also missed the in-room safe.
Housekeeping was not available during the stay.
How is the exec. lounge?
n/a.
What was good and what was bad?
Good
Staff is friendly
location is well connected to roads / interstate.
Breakfast voucher get you a good breakfast
free parking
pool
Gym 24//
Neutral
rooms are dark
Style is a bit outdated
restaurant is okay and for an hotel restaurant reasonable priced,
Bad
gym is not well maintained (water / cleaning utensils)
no in-room safe
Suite was rather small and one big room would have been nicer.
Small bathroom
Value for $ or Priority Club Points? Would you return?
The suites are small and dark. In so far, the regular room might be better. They seem to have nicer and brighter rooms. Fitness is 24/7, so that is nice, though in regard to maintenance room for improvement. Given that I paid around 360 USD incl. taxed for 3 nights, value for money was good.
For my purpose, it was okay. Also if you need a hotel close to the airport and with easy access to the roads. If you want to visit Milwaukee, stay elsewhere
In so far, I would return, if the rates are affordable, but not so much if the hotel is higher priced.
