Too bad the product doesn't hold up to their arrogance. I have flown SQ twice, all at once, my first time and my last time, 5 years ago. Terrible hard product, soft product was meh at best. I have had opportunity to include SQ in some of my multi-carrier itineraries but never have. First impressions!
SQ does earn bonus miles in J, just no Class of Service miles that are Elite Qualifying on those discount J fare classes.

Beg to differ. I've flown SQ a number of times in the last year and am here to say it is the very best product in the skies. This includes AS award SEA-SIN-MEL in J, SQ award JFK-SIN-HKT in Suites/J, paid HKT-SIN-LAX in C/F, and AS Award MEL-SIN-LAX in C where I was able to upgrade the first segment for a reasonable amout for F and enjoy the FCL/PR in SIN. Best food, in flight service, ground experience above and beyond expectations. Sorry to hear your exerience was not up to your liking. oh, and BTW all of the crews were just fantastic.
