Recent stay as Platinum
Family of 5 so booked two rooms on points.
Asked for connecting rooms so not sure if affected upgrades but I think upgrade might be really just the view. Was on the 8th floor facing 2nd bank of US side. The King was a corner room so maybe that was special.
Room is dated but nice size and comfortable. Usual city street noise.
As Platinum was given vouchers each day for breakfast for 2. Since had two rooms they gave us 4 vouchers per day which was much appreciated. Buffet on weekends(very limited, eggs., potato, sausage, french toast) and off menu during the week. They had these tater tots for the potato on the menu breakfast which were outstanding. Overall nice breakfast, not lavish. Did not try other meals.
There were no restrictions on using the vouchers.
Self-parking in Bourse garage around corner is a snap and worth saving like $30 off the valet. The rate was $31/night. Garage is very narrow though if you have a phobia about parking cars.
Fitness room was kind of small but still pretty good. Pool was tiny, cold, and murky but appreciated for being a downtown lodging having one.
Location can't be beat if your destination is the Historical sites all within easy walking distance.
And that's what you're paying for, certainly not a $300-$400 type place.
The aforementioned weird lobby location...at least now they have this receptionist stand as you walk in that can check you in as yes one would never find the lobby on his first try.
