With the current strain on the fleet could BA not buy up or lease some of the retired A380s that are around? Obviously not a quick measure but on routes like LHR to BOS, LAX, JFK, ORD etc it would be a way of moving a lot of passengers in one flight freeing up smaller planes for other routes.
