Somehow I find conflicting infos on the net - some articles say it's impossible, some say you can buy seats, some say there is a trick allowing to choose them for free.
Also is the DL SkyClub in JFK T4 worth visiting, or should I head for the Virgin Clubhouse?
No free seat selection for anyone on DL E fares, even Diamond Medallions. I believe you will be able to pay for a seat assignment starting 7 days before departure, but I've never done it myself.
Note that if you book the same flights as AF* or KL* codeshares, Delta will treat it as Main Cabin and you will be able to pick a seat.
The Sky Club tends to get very crowded before the transatlantic departures in the evening, although it is nice once you can find somewhere to sit. I like the Clubhouse more.
