For me WMI needs massive infrastructure improvements to be a valid option, its a 2-2.5hr drive from Łódź, once you leave the A2 the roads are really bad and it takes forever. Even from the centre of Warsaw it can take over 1hr in a cab. True there is the train, but even that is 45m or more from the centre, so if you come from Łódź then its over 2hrs in total. But anyway the discussion is immaterial, because neither will see investment and the CPK unicorn will never happen. So its WAW or WAW.

We're discussing here options for Warsaw, not Łódź ;-) My parents live South of Warsaw, 20 minutes from WAW, so WMI is not convenient for me at all - landed there at 13:30, got to my final destination at 16:15, so almost 3 hours after landing. I can do it as one off, but will likely avoid it in the future. That does not change the fact expanding WMI makes sense for Warsaw, since most of travellers will be going to Warsaw. It's also handy for the North East Poland where WMI is de facto their only option. LCJ and RDO have their niche and should exists too, in my humble opinion.
What annoys me is that politicians block expansion of the WMI airport and waste public money on RDO "project". While RDO would be handy to a few charters and handful of low cost flights (like LUZ is), I don't see it as an alternative to WAW.
