Just an update:

This card is a P.i.t.A. They hardly recognize anything as "online retail." I called to question some charges that didn't get 3%; agent said they qualified, and the extra 2% would be applied at the end of the billing period. Wrong. Called back--they renege, and claim that these charges are in the "Other" category, even though I can pull it up in my account and see that they're categorized as "Merchandise/Supplies."

The latest development is they aren't counting Lowes.com as "online retail."

I asked, and they told me I had to keep the card a year to avoid a signup bonus clawback. I'm probably just going to use this only for gas until the year is up, then cancel.
