I’m sorry, I am just not going to engage. There are security protocols that were breached in regards to certain behaviors towards both crew members and other passengers, that’s where I leave this.

The decision to divert for a disruptive passenger is obviously not something that is taken lightly nor driven solely by the inflight/cockpit crew. Dispatch, corporate security, SOCC are all involved with this process. This diversion cost United hundreds of thousands of dollars, hours of lost time, and unmeasurable passenger goodwill.

Hopefully common sense will prevail here and recognize that these airplanes don’t just divert solely for a passenger sitting in a jumpseat while waiting to go to the lavatory.
