This HIX is located just outside the South Entrance of GCNP in Tusayan. Unless you stay in the park itself, which takes some advanced planning, you really can't get much closer. Also there are some restaurants, gas stations, etc in the area that make it convenient. It's a standard HIX so about what you would expect. Like any hotels in the area such as in Page, Kanab, Flagstaff etc., prices can be pretty steep during high tourist season.
The only downside I could see is that at the South Rim entrance, the line starts forming pretty early in the morning, especially on the weekends, so you'd be advised to get there early or you could wait awhile to get into the park.
