Flying back from CDG in 1C on an expensive ticket on Sunday . I had one normal size soft roller that fitted into the gate bin . Gate agent wanted me to check it in despite this. His two other colleagues were happily letting anyone go through with up to three pieces . I explained I had no checked luggage and it would be a pain to have to wait at a carousel in LHR . He said he did not care if I was in business , put a tag on my bag and turned his back on me . I continued on with my bag and took the tag off . There was an empty locker still in a not full business when we departed .
