Flew my first UAX CR9 this morning ICT-IAH. I’ve been on a dozen or so AA CR9s (Mesa and PSA) and this one actually looked decent inside. It wore the house livery for Mesa with a white hull, while some I saw at IAH still had the AA gray and the Mesa tail logo.
When I booked the flight on Monday, I selected 4A as we had the 9F version. After OLCI yesterday, I received three text messages advising of the plane being changed and was moved to 5A. My upgrade cleared at the gate and we ultimately flew with the 12F version.
The interior was very AA like with the standard AA seat covers and headrests. I imagine these will eventually be phased out in favor of the UA blue. Power was available in F and, at least, the first row of Y. No Wi-Fi service was available. Otherwise a fairly standard RJ hop. The cabin was clean and the lighting was LED which is an improvement over a Mesa CR9 I took DFW-GSO some years ago with an interior that felt older than me.
