Ok so it sounds like we may need to clear passport control first, then attempt to re-enter T3 through security and hope they let us in. If not, then clear security in T5 and then do the T5-T3 dance outlined previously.
If you have at least 5 hours of layover time, it might be worth it according to folks I have asked..
We are arriving T5 and departing T5 in 2.5 hrs and folks here have said that's not enough time to transit airside between terminals.
I would have loved to visit my first international Centurion lounge but the crowds are an issue as you have to sign up for a waitlist on your Amex app.
