NUH had a similar arrangement.
The same applies to hospital stays as well. My wife's 2 days stay at SGH's Heart division in one person ward came as $3800. A citizen would pay $1100.

Because they can.
Isn't $1100 a lot for the poor? There seems to be a high wealth gap in Singapore.
