That's a very interesting idea. Is it possible to use HSBC with Wechat Pay and Alipay? No, I won't put anywhere close to that kind of money in a Chinese account. The cash will just be for Wechat Pay and Alipay.
You need to continuously qualify for HSBC Premier which means US $75k in the account, $5k direct deposit per month, or $500k mortgage. Otherwise there's a $50 monthly fee.
I should be able to finalize the process by May 10, will provide an update then on if it works with Wechat Pay and AliPay.
