Yeah, I did ANA once about 10 years ago and although it was generally fine, I never did it again because Virgin was so many fewer miles and United was so much more flexible. Those programs (and AC) transfer immediately and only require one-way bookings, so you don't have the multi-day sweating period which is especially brutal now that inventory is so lean.
