What would be the entry requirements for something like this? Is it not worthwhile to attempt for such a short time? Am I able to take advantage of one of those airline deals with the brief layover if I just book a roundtrip out of Doha?
I would agree with what IAN-UK said - and it depends on your experience with the Middle East.

If it's your first time I would indeed to go to Muscat (for the Arabian experience) or Dubai (for party and beach bars).

I was recently staying in Abu Dhabi and went for two nights to Saudi (i've seen all the other countries as I lived in the area) and I went to Jeddah which was a rather nice trip for two nights). Also just wanted to see Saudi and had the feeling that two days are just right for Jeddah. Jeddah will be pricier than Riyadh though (the Ritz Carlton is grand but cost me $350 a night)
