I really enjoyed the Renaissance Santiago, and I think this has been my favorite Renaissance globally so far (though, admittedly, it's one of the brands I have less experience with). Here are my pros, cons, and photos:
Pros:
- Upgraded many days in advance to a Governor's Suite, which is a full suite facing SE towards the beautiful Andes Mountains
- The suite is well-designed and cozy - large wetbar area, four-person dining space, full desk, bedroom with bathtub next to the window, and a large shower in the bathroom
- Couch in the living room was very plush and cozy
- The bed was comfortable - good pillows (but use two), plush mattress topper (though slightly uneven), covers were decent - I slept well
- Really nice shower pressure from the rainfall head
- Lovely views - so pretty - Santiago feels like a city of the future with the landscaping, tunnels, and beautiful mountain backdrop
- Brought a lovely plate of tasty and fresh macarons along with a small serving of wine (so much better for one person)
- Service was really friendly - though, I laughed when the check-out associate asked if something was wrong when I mentioned I was moving hotels - he really wanted to assure me that my patterns aren't crazy - hah!
- Had to ask for 2 PM late checkout - was told I had until 4 PM
- Club lounge on the 12th floor (right below my suite) is always open for beverages
- Evening service had some delicious fried cheese risotto things that were heavenly along with some tasty coffee-flavored dessert
- Breakfast seemed to consist of pancakes, scrambled eggs, bacon, etc.
- However, I was also given the choice to take restaurant breakfast - this has an eggs chef for omelets, etc. - pancakes were decent and omelet was tasty - restaurant was very busy, lounge was empty - take your pick :-)
Cons:
- No Internet apps on TV
- Wi-Fi could be a tad spotty (some odd disconnects, but not always)
Overall, I would definitely return.
