I'm travelling to Shanghai in May.
I was able to survive on cash alone in January 2020, but I am wondering if the situation has changed in the past three years.

How easy is it for foreigners to get Alipay or Wechat Pay set up nowadays?
It seems that to be able to enable the payment options in Wechat you still need a chinese bank account, not exactly tourist friendly...

The was some Alipay method called "Tour Pass" which doesn't need any bank account, but that has been shut down?
It seems it has been replaced with something called "Tour Card" instead? I tried setting up this "Tour Card" stuff but it seems broken at the moment, just great...
