This is actually one of those situations where YMMV.
My order was taken first within the section the crew member was looking after on 3 out of 4 of my flights a few weeks ago. And on the 4th I was in row 1 anyway so I'm not counting that. I'm flying again tonight so shall see how my luck is today...
