My wife and I are flying SFO-FRA on Condor with a connecting flight of FRA-BER on Lufthansa in May. I've never flown Condor before and they seem to be somewhat unusual.
The first thing I'm trying to figure out is carry on/checked luggage rules. My ticket says:
SAN FRANCISCO - FRANKFURT INT.
SPO = Classic
Economy Class
1,2 baggage incl.: 1 PC á 23 kg
Carry-on baggage: 1 piece total 8 kg
FRANKFURT INT. - BERLIN
SPO = Classic
Economy Class
1,2 baggage incl.: 1 PC á 23 kg
Carry-on baggage: 1 piece total 8 kg
If I'm reading this right - we both get an 8kg carry on and a 23kg checked bag. Are heavier carry-ons simply not allowed? Further reading of
this page suggests that in economy classic I should actually get two carry on bags - a small (40cm x 30cm x 10cm or 15.7" x 11.8" x 4") and a large (55cm x 40cm x 20cm or 21.6" x 15.7" x 7.9"). But my ticket mentions 1 so maybe I actually have an economy light fare (except then why do I have a free checked bag)? I don't know how to tell. But regardless it sounds like total weight has to be < 8kg (<17.6lbs)
Further their website talks about reserving a overhead bin. How does that work? Do some overhead bins get marked as reserved? Or might you put your stuff in one and then somebody later kicks you out of the bin you selected? But even with reserved bin, the limit is still 8kg?
Any words of warning/encouragement? This all seems a bit off so I'm getting nervous LOL.
