does happy hour just mean a discount on drinks? No managers reception meaning no free drinks/canapés in the evening?
interestingly, after I posted, we ended up having a good food day, so maybe we just made numerous poor choices for our tastes the past couple days: the (relatively reasonable) $34 tuna poke salad was a delicious lunch, and sushi dinner at Koi/the Drift was so good we're going back tomorrow, and at prices that are high but not oppressive given the setting (think $10-20++ per piece of nigiri, $35-45++ per six-piece maki; we spent $265 all in for two).
The nightly Globalist happy hour is still a thing, it's the weekly manager's reception with free flow drinks and apps that is gone. The Globalist happy hour is one drink per person plus the 3 canapés, which is a very nice perk, particularly when they give a fruit smoothie amd set of canapés to the baby too (it's essentially his dinner).
The 15% discount on cocktails and wine by the glass for Globalists is indeed no longer, but honestly the cocktail prices are downright reasonable... I paid $18++ for a generously poured negroni, nothing wrong with that.
