One reason for going back-to-front on MAN/NCL/JER is that the flight time is so short that the aircraft's angle of ascent makes it really tricky to keep the trolley under control, it's sometimes easier to push rather than be pulled. Personally I don't think it's a big deal, but YMMV.
I mean it sounds plausible- but I have never seen it happen.
I would strongly suggest cabin crew trying to get creative on service routines on short flights is almost guaranteed to end in failure.
