If the AY flight is late, they usually have someone at the arrival gate with a sign with the names of people with short connections (or flight numbers) and they guide you through. Regardless, it should be fine and it is on them to rebook you if there is a delay. But for this reason I do not like to book short connections at US airports when arriving internationally (I have to I->I connections via the US coming up, one is a comfortable 3.5 hours but the other is 1h40m).
