I'm new to this game but have some big plans, which involve a lot of spreadsheets and staggering of new credit cards.

When I built out my first big plan the AMEX gold was showing a SUB of 55,000 points for only $3,000 (in the first three months).

Since the new SUB is so much worse (requiring $13,000 over 12 months) I'm wondering, is this normal? Do SUB requirements jump around like crazy like this?

And therefore should I wait until this one expires (anyone know when that is?) and hope the next offer is better than this one?
