Wow.
Charles was one of the original young elites-- those of us who mileage ran between midterms and lugged textbooks on coast to coast weekends with the illusion they'd hold our interest more than passing scenery below. Those of us offered champagne in First Class before we could order cheap beer on the ground. Charles was a wealth of knowledge, very passionate and very dedicated to mileage running as an art form.
I broke bread with him multiple times, and he was a beloved part of the FT community. He'll be missed.
