I don't have any issues if the OP wants to risk it and reports back the data point. Data points are always good.

Even if the OP gets away with it, there's still no way that I'm skipping the middle leg of a TATL itinerary to test whether IB is no longer following standard airline practice. Just because I don't fancy a 3-hour bus ride...
