Air India and Emirates both also have flights that overfly Russia to and from the US West Coast.. So I assume these airlines all have plans and processes on what to do if there is an emergency while flying over Russia... Most likely nothing much will happen to US citizens specifically, otherwise they probably will warn you prior to boarding or buying a ticket on those flights...
