Maybe, western airlines fly massively some 150 NM SW of Odessa, which is regularly an active warzone, not to speak about what happens in Moldova/Transnistria. The distance between Kharkiv - Moscow is 350 NM, where Moscow's only "active" warzones are the spontaneous fires at important military locations/buildings. As long as the airplanes fall under Xi's rule, Putin will not dare to shoot these down.
Turkish and all the ME/India/China/Many carriers have little doubt to fly east of the line Volgograd - Moscow and north of the line Moscow - Minsk.
So, the hesitation for CX is probably less due to the war risk itself, but significantly more related to the hostile environment of Russia itself towards both aircraft and humans, given CX is still Western-oriented. A tech-divert to a Russian airport will quite likely give major headaches to bring in spare parts, especially things like engines and so, though this does apply practically for the whole of Russia.
Aircraft/spare parts impounding in Russia is nowadays no longer an insurance item, but a risk/bill for the airline itself. The more Russia friendly the state of the airline is, the less issues, etc.
