I don't think it's a good idea to do this, given the pressures on security screening at the moment, but after they have finished in T3 they should go towards the AA and VS lounges, at which point they will see the signs back to Flight Connections, then it's the bus again to T5 and another round of security there. There is no need to clear immigration but that represents an alternative route.
