Thanks Spaeth for this write-up! I'm gonna have to think long and hard about this, one of the main reasons would be for my partner to be able to have an AU Amex Platinum card to use for status and lounge access since we travel multiple times per year.
It is still a decent deal to get the Platinum with a free AU for $660/yr. The Cash Plus account is not worth $55 on its own, but has nice features if you find enough value in the Platinum+AU.
