If you like Zermatt, you won't like Gstaad. I found Alpina Gstaad OK, but the whole area is very sleepy and a bit dull. Gstaad is where you live, not a place you visit.
Re Zermatt: Omnia is my choice. I second the good review above. The hotels up the mountain, such as Rifflelalp are very hard to access. The only downside to Omnia is the lack of a proper bar.
