I picked September 14 at random. Delta is running three non-stops from JFK to FCO then: the first goes at 1655, DL 182 and is shown as a 767-300. The second goes at 1900, DL 152, and is shown as an A330-300. The third goes at 2230, DL 148, and is shown as a 767-400.

When you go on delta.com and enter the city pair you want to book, the site will return a number of choices. Simply click on the flight number to get details on the plane DL plans to use on that run.

Don't forget that there is a third option on this route, and that is ITA, the successor to Alitalia. They are in the SkyTeam; I don't understand why Delta and ITA are not currently doing codeshares and selling each other's tickets. When they were Alitalia, they were using the A330-300 on Rome to USA flights. People on here reported that they liked the business class service on Alitalia.
