Is Hertz really this bad?

I haven't rented in years from Hertz because National's Emerald Aisle is just gods gift to a traveler. Hop in skip the line and GO!

Then I got hooked on Teslas.

So I'm renting from Hertz. Despite Gary @ VFTW's advice, here I am. I have an Amex Plat so I get some status with that.

I'll forgive them for my first rental issues as I used a credit card I didn't have and they wanted the card. OK, with National, that wouldn't have been an issue, but OK sure they want to see the card. (I had it in Apple Pay lol!). Naturally I was on the road and was working the bonus on this card that was sitting at home.

Anyway I've had to extend a few times now.....and I hop on the app and then the web page and there is no record of my reservation.

So I have to find the email, type in my rental ID and my drivers license and it shows up.

I hate everything about Hertz so far, but then I hop in the car and zoom 0-60 faster than Captain Kirk ever did, and I'm paying $280/wk in San Diego which is cheaper than average. And i love the car, and only Hertz has them.

Can someone let me know it will get better?! Does anyone really like renting from Hertz?
