I called Marriott and was able to reserve a room for two nights but the rep had all kinds of problems trying to attach the Club Upgrade certificate to the reservation and won't be able to finalize it until early next week. Apparently, as a new hotel that's not yet open, systems are not yet in place to process the Club Upgrade certificates. With the Z38 code, I will receive the Club upgrade and $100 property credit, but the rate for using the Z38 code is 5,000 yen higher per night than the standard listed rate. I must have spent an hour and a half on the phone as the rep had to repeatedly consult with others, and still no closure. What a hassle! Have any others tried to use their Club Upgrade certs here and encounter similar issues?
